Aggressively Protecting Your Rights
There were more than 24,000 crashes in Ohio in 2017. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, of those crashes, 400 proved fatal and thousands were injured. These numbers show us that driving can be a dangerous prospect. What the numbers don’t show us, however, is all the pain, suffering and inconvenience accident victims often must endure. 
Whether you are riding for pleasure or to get around town, motorcycles can be a source of open air thrills and excitement. But when other motorists speed, are distracted, or fail to yield to bikers, accidents can happen. Because motorcycles don’t offer the same level of protection as cars do, collisions often cause serious, permanent, and even life-threatening injuries to riders. 
If you have been injured in a bicycle accident caused by a negligent motorist, the law protects you. Car and truck drivers are required to share the road not only with other motor vehicles, but with cyclists. Cyclists have a legal right to be on the road, but many motor vehicle drivers ignore the rights of cyclists or fail to look out for them or be attentive and responsible on Ohio roads. 
Under Ohio law, if you are injured at your place of work, you could be entitled to workers’ compensation benefits. Pedestrian accidents don’t only happen to people crossing a road without using a crosswalk or only to children. 
Whether it is for long-term care or short-term recovery, when your loved one is in a nursing home facility, you expect that he or she will receive adequate medical care and attention. Unfortunately, some nursing homes are understaffed and under-budgeted, which can lead to resident neglect. 
Medical malpractice happens when a healthcare provider, such as a doctor, nurse, or surgeon, causes injury to a patient as a result of negligence or wrongdoing. Whether it is an error prescribing medication, incorrect diagnosis of illness or injury, or a surgical mistake, it can be considered medical malpractice. 
Police officers have a duty to protect citizens. The law allows officers to use the requisite amount of force needed to diffuse a dangerous situation. However, there are the rare circumstances where police officers use what is considered "excessive force," that can have bad or even tragic consequences. When excessive force is used by a police officer, it is a violation of a person's civil rights. Financial compensation may be available to the victim if substantial physical injury or death results.
